Examination information for veterinary and para-veterinary professional examinations

Application forms must be complete and all enrolment requirements met and received by the SAVC on 1 April 2013

No applications will be considered after 1 April 2013

Applications must be received as a complete set of documents and must not be submitted in stages

Prospective applicants need to prepare for compliance with the examination requirements and read all documents as follows:

Veterinary Examination

  1. A completed application form [A application form] & [B checklist] signed before a Commissioner of Oaths
  2. Payment in the amount of R 12 255 this amount includes the application [R 236.00] and examination fee.  Kindly note that the fees are non refundable
  3. After 7 May 2013 no withdrawn applications from the examination will be placed back on the list of examination candidates
  4. Details of the examination are available as per the listed links under items C-J below:

5.  Application only upon approval or direction by the SAVC to sit a part of the Council Registration Examination

 Veterinary Nursing Examination 

  1. A completed application form [A application form] & [B checklist] signed before a Commissioner of Oaths
  2. Payment in the amount of R 6 128 this amount includes the application [R 236.00] and examination fee.  Kindly note that the fees are non refundable
  3. After 7 May 2013 no withdrawn applications from the examination will be placed back on the list of examination candidates
  4. Details of the examination are available as per the listed links items C-J below:

5.  Application only upon approval or direction by the SAVC to sit a part of the Council Registration Examination

 Animal health examination 

  1. A completed application form [A application form] & [B checklist] signed before a Commissioner of Oaths
  2. Payment in the amount of R 6 128 this amount includes the application [R 236.00] and examination fee.  Kindly note that the fees are non refundable
  3. After 7 May 2013 no withdrawn applications from the examination will be placed back on the list of examination candidates

Please contact the administration if you apply to sit an examination other than a full Council Registration Examination.

Please note that the Examination Documents are reviewed annually in January and information changes annually as well as the application and examination fees.
